My Favourite SS14 Campaign

As you're flicking through a magazine, the thing that makes you stop and look at what's on a page has to be something pretty spectacular. Dolce & Gabbana do this for me.

I've always loved their campaigns and I can't pin-point the main reason I love them so much, all I know is that I could look at the pictures for hours. I love how it isn't always serious with serious poses. They almost take everyday Italian family-life and make it more glamorous. Not that I have any idea what family-life in Italy is like, but these campaigns make me want to lead and Italian lifestyle!

The models are absolutely beautiful, Italian people - even the chickens are attractive! The clothes are incredible - as well as the accessories! The scenery is breathtaking. It's these elements that make me want to buy Dolce & Gabbana clothes, accessories - everything! Just so I can lead this Italian life - keep dreaming.

The advertising is so clever and really does entice you. D&G, your work is done.

The 70's Style: S/S14

When you think of the 70's, at first you probably think crazy disco afros and Saturday Night Fever-esque flares. Fear not, the frightful matching white waistcoat and trousers of John Travolta aren't back! But all these trends we think are insane right now have been interpreted our favourite designer's S/S collections for this year.

I wanted to write a blog post on this 70's style originally after the release of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which made me want to watch the first of the sequel once again. In one of the first scenes of the first film, Veronica Corningstone is introduced, a beautiful young woman ready to fight to be the first woman anchor. She's seen as a very confident and independent woman, wearing this chic outfit at a party...

There aren't any shots of her trousers unfortunately, but by only seeing how the high the waistband is, you can tell that they are white, wide legged trousers. An item that scares some, or entices others. Although I think these white ones are lovely, I'd prefer to go for a coloured trouser as the bright colours of 'flower-power' are back once more. By doing this you'd be incorporating two trends into one item of clothing. If you pair it with a plain, sheer white shirt, the classic floppy hat and some platformed wedges you are good to go - 70's style but in a more chic and subtle way like Miss Corningstone here!

I hope this gives you an insider into what style will be big this spring/summer and tell you what items to keep your eyes on next season!

The Ever-so-classic White Shirt

I think we can all agree that the white shirt is one of the most timeless pieces of clothing out there. They work on everybody, there isn't anyone who can't wear a simple white shirt.

Although it does vary in the way that people wear and accessorize the shirt. Personally I like to tuck a white shirt into my disco pants or plain black jeans and layer it with a jumper so that the collars are poking out creating an elegant, sweet look.

A lot of people will see a white shirt as business-like and too smart for everyday. This is not the case. Even though the shirt is so simplistic, the amount of different fabrics and cuts you can have is endless! The collars constantly change, the length and sleeve length goes on forever in it's variety!

If you're looking for a new white shirt, I suggest going for one that's of a sheer fabric with a classic pointed collar as this will be the trend in Spring/Summer 2014. When you go sale shopping at the end of the month and the beginning of January look out for these shirts as they are a staple in anyone's wardrobe!

Be certain of what length you have as the high-waisted trouser style is returning again in 2014 so I recommend the length to go as far as your lower hip so that you can tuck your shirt into the high-waisted trousers - very 70's indeed.

If you're planning on wearing your shirt over leggings then you may want to go for a slightly more tunic styled shirt so that you cover more of yourself if you want to feel more comfortable. This length can always be used to tuck into high-waisted items to give a more relaxed and baggy feel to your spring/summer look.

Nearly all high-street shops are selling white shirts so grab them and trust me you'll get so much wear out of it. If you want to go for something of higher quality but more expensive then All Saints are brilliant for silk and sheer white shirts and you could also pick up a leather skirt to match if you feel like treating yourself.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!
