What to Pack: Summer Holiday!

As today is officially the last day of the school year for most schools which means a lot of you will be going on holiday, maybe even abroad and this is what i pack for a holiday abroad in Mallorca.

The first things I take, which most would take are at least two books. I'm not a total bookworm I'll admit, however I do love to read on holiday by the pool or even just before bed to help me sleep which is what I do even when at home anyway. I've read a few of the Shopaholic Series and I started 'Shopaholic & Baby' a few years ago then I stupidly lost it. So when it was on offer at Tescos along with 'You Had me at Hello' which was highly recommended by mum, I had to get it again. Sophie Kinsella is a brilliant writer who manages to make me laugh a lot! Another favourite of mine is the new one 'Shopaholic to the Stars' - it's hilarious.

I hate having to decide between clutch bags with outfits so to avoid this I only pack one that goes with everything and that is a good size. This is a vintage Diesel clutch and it's rectangular and thin which looks sleek as I don't carry much anyway - I just love the look of a simple big clutch with an outfit.

Now what goes in it: 1. Body tape. I hate wearing a bra on holiday, especially in a hot country it's just too uncomfortable so body tape is a great solution to make sure your clothes stick to your body and don't gape and if it's a thin material it helps cover areas that need covering :P. You can find these for next to nothing on Ebay.

2. Tinted Vaseline for an easy way to give a little colour and it makes your lips super soft. I've used this one for so long and it's my favourite out of the collection - 10/10

3. Lip Gloss and this one from Lancôme is to die for. The colour is a Pinky Nude and gives a lovely shine and feels incredible on the lips. The biggest plus is that it doesn't stick to your hair which is always an issue. The colour I have is Rose Ballet and it's just stunning.

This may seem obvious, but I'm being more specific than just a sandal. These sandals are from New Look and are real leather (psst there are other colours available that are in the sale for £9!). They're very pretty and exotic and can be worn day or night which is essential on keeping your packing to a minimum. Too many sandals will take up too much space so having a nice pair that will last as they are of a better material is worth it so they can be worn out for a market shop and a comfy night out at a restaurant.

The final major item I pack is a stellar, stand out dress that is that bit more special than your other dresses. this was actually my prom dress but I'm ready to wear it several more times as it's gorgeous. There's only a teaser picture in this post as it will be featured in a lookbook soon. However it's from Missguided

I hope you all enjoy your Summer and let me know if you're going away somewhere this season!

C'etait Incroyable...

Paris was like my Bali - soul cleansing. It was the perfect weekend away and ideal for a break before exams. It was a dream with the couture, champagne and crepes.

I've never really been drawn to big cities like London or Tokyo, due to how modern and industrial they have become. However Paris's architecture is hands-down my favorite that I've seen. The long windows with intricate balconies, kilograms of gold and copper shower the roofs and the oxygen from the crisp air reacts with the copper of the roofs to create a beautiful turquoise shell for the historic buildings.

In contrast with the hectic streets like the Champs Élysées, the Sacre Couer is so peaceful and tranquil, you can't believe that you're in a capital city. That was a very emotional moment, being able to look over the whole of Paris and barely hearing a peep (I cried:P).

Galeries Lafayette is enormous, I was not expecting it to be so beautiful and cultural. Every inch is filled with either designer pieces or the high street's best. I bought a few things in Topshop and Urban Outfitters, both outfits are on my Instagram @cerysmyfanwy along with more pictures of Paris if you want to have a look.

Oh and the most important thing - the food. Magnifique. I had the best steak of my life in Relais de l-Entrecôte alongside beautifully fried chips. The attitude towards food in Paris and the rest of France is totally different to the UK and a lot of First World countries and it has changed my perspective. You should eat food to enjoy it and for the taste, not just for the sake of eating, or because of boredom.

That's all I have to say because genuinely there are no words to describe this trip, hopefully these pictures will tell more about the stay. I might do another post in a few months that's more of a "Guide to Paris" from my perspective to give recommendations and comments on the places I went to. But for now, enjoy this collection of pictures, I hope the beauty of this city translates through these pictures :)

Holiday Outfits!

I arrived back from Spain not too long ago and I thought in this blog post I would share with you some of the outfits I wore and loved!

Kimono & Skort - New Look. Shoes - River Island. Sunnies - Urban Outfitters.

Although it was extremely hot, I had to whip out the kimono! The bright colour of the skort matched perfectly with one of the colours from the kimono and of course these shoes go with anything and everything:P As a top I wore just a simple black crop top from H&M.

Bralette - Spanish Market. Shorts - Vintage Guess. Shoes - Primark. Sunnies - Urban Outfitters.

This outfit is one that I still wear back at home (if the weather's nice enough:P). It's so simple but the detailing of the lace makes it more complex I guess. It's so comfortable and easy to throw on so this was a reoccurring look throughout the holiday.

Crop Top - Topshop. Crochet shorts - Spanish Market. Shoes - River Island.

I found this a very cute outfit that could be worn day to night. I love the bright Coral crop to make a statement paired with a more neutral pair of shorts. I love the mixture of textures and patterns also!

Dress - Gilly Hicks (old). Shoes - River Island.

I posted this picture on my Instagram the other day as I love this floral print on the skirt of the dress. I got this dress a few years ago and only now I'm starting to wear it more often. It helps give me some shape in the hip area and the short waist accentuates my waist without cutting me up and making me look shorter.

That's it for this post, let me know which outfit is your favourite and see you soon! x

Autumn/Fall Nails

I know us girls love having freshly painted toe nails, despite the hassle and patience we have to endure to get the finished result!

With fall and winter, I've never usually bothered with my nails but this year I thought I'd put a bit more effort into my toes (without that sounding strange).

On other blogs, a red wine color has been popular with either cream blushes or nail polish. I think that this color is perfect for fall as it's a nice red that's great for everyday and night time, and it also reminds me of beautiful deep read leaves falling on the ground.

I looked through my nail polish collection and found a few deep red wine colors that are affordable and gorgeous for your toes!

Three of my favorite deep red wine nail polishes!
Affordable and beautiful!

Slightly different shades by No7, not too expensive and fab for fall or winter!

The current color I'm wearing on my nails! Lasting ages!

Of course, not everyone is a "Lady in Red". Nevertheless, there's plenty of other colors that are suitable for this season like purples, indigos, dark blue and many more. I've picked two of my favorite colors from last year and here they are!

This color may look like a deep red but it does have a pink tint to it which is an option for you girly girls out there!

This color is better for the colder, winter months in my opinion but still it can look very pretty with little black dresses and black strappy heels!

La Manga

Summer finally came around in July and for the first 2 weeks of my summer holidays [vacation for you in the States;)] and I was lucky enough to go to La Manga in the south-east of Spain with family and friends!

La Manga is a beautiful 24 km strip which separates the Mar Menor Sea and the Mediterranean Sea which is amazing in its self! I really recommend this to all of you and there's plenty of villas, condos and apartments there to stay in. Whether you prefer sky high views or a pool at your doorstep there's so many places to choose from!

The beautiful view from our balcony at early evening!

But I don't want to bore you about the time I had but I have got to say that this place is lovely for photography, whether it's fashion or landscape, it is incredible! I took a few shots with my camera of my gorgeous friend Maddie who was my own little model for the day!

Although not all of these photos have a view behind them, the best part about where we stayed for shoots was the lighting, because of the glaring sun it gave us natural sunlight which you can experiment with easily and I thought it was very handy, haha.

The ocean's soo blue! Amazing!

So there's a few pictures from my shoot with Maddie, hope you enjoyed!

Just to quickly note if you've enjoyed my first two blogs I'd really appreciate it if you followed me here on Bloglovin: http://www.bloglovin.com/cerysevans Thank you! xox
