Bye Bye Guess Shorts!

No, I am not selling or giving away my favourite shorts - no need to worry! This is the last addition to the Guess Series on my blog. With Summer coming to an end, especially here in the UK with the Autumnal weather well on its way, I thought I would add one more outfit to the collection!

I paired the shorts with this cute crop top that I got from republic a few years ago, my New Backpack and my 'Birkenstocks' look-a-like sandals to give a relaxed, effortless feel to this outfit! I can't forget the sunglasses from Urban Outfitters which always complete any of my Summer outfits!

This outfit has been recurring this Summer for me as it's so easy and the accessorizing is very minimal making this look easy to dress up or down. I hope you enjoyed the Guess Series, let me know which outfit was your favourite (I'll link them all below) and thank you for reading!

Holiday Outfits!

I arrived back from Spain not too long ago and I thought in this blog post I would share with you some of the outfits I wore and loved!

Kimono & Skort - New Look. Shoes - River Island. Sunnies - Urban Outfitters.

Although it was extremely hot, I had to whip out the kimono! The bright colour of the skort matched perfectly with one of the colours from the kimono and of course these shoes go with anything and everything:P As a top I wore just a simple black crop top from H&M.

Bralette - Spanish Market. Shorts - Vintage Guess. Shoes - Primark. Sunnies - Urban Outfitters.

This outfit is one that I still wear back at home (if the weather's nice enough:P). It's so simple but the detailing of the lace makes it more complex I guess. It's so comfortable and easy to throw on so this was a reoccurring look throughout the holiday.

Crop Top - Topshop. Crochet shorts - Spanish Market. Shoes - River Island.

I found this a very cute outfit that could be worn day to night. I love the bright Coral crop to make a statement paired with a more neutral pair of shorts. I love the mixture of textures and patterns also!

Dress - Gilly Hicks (old). Shoes - River Island.

I posted this picture on my Instagram the other day as I love this floral print on the skirt of the dress. I got this dress a few years ago and only now I'm starting to wear it more often. It helps give me some shape in the hip area and the short waist accentuates my waist without cutting me up and making me look shorter.

That's it for this post, let me know which outfit is your favourite and see you soon! x

Summery Day Out-fit!

Here's another addition to my Guess Shorts series! I wore this outfit a few days ago down to Cardiff Bay and so I thought I would share it with you, especially as I wore my vintage shorts.

It was a relatively hot day so this outfit was well suited for the weather as the crepe material of the cami and kimono was breathable, as well as the baggy-ness of the shorts - nothing was clinging on to me which is always great in warm weather!

A cami vest top is a staple piece for your wardrobe in Summer as it's lightweight and is easy to layer and match with! This one was from New Look last year and I just love the Royal Blue colour!

The kimono is a new item in my life and is also from New Look (their Summer collections are always great, I find!) The numerous colours in it make it so wearable and easy to pair with so many tops and bottoms! £19.99 which is fantastic as it's very nice quality - just the right thickness!

My shoes of choice were my Vans which I've had for so long (I think it's time to buy some new ones:P) but the colour matched my top and I wanted to be comfortable!

I love the way this outfit is put together as it has a mix of urban and my preferred floral and girly-girl look!

Cute but Casual Summer Outfit: Guess Lookbook

Happy Easter for all of you that celebrate it! I hope you're enjoying your spring holidays or "spring break". So the other day, the sun appeared and so it was nice and warm and short appropriate weather! I found myself wearing my vintage, Guess shorts out in the garden and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to add another outfit to my look book.

I wasn't too sure what to call this outfit, in the end I settled for Cute but Casual. Because I went with some bold and colourful accessories I felt like wearing a plain, basic, black t-shirt from H&M.

Of course, since 'the' bag has entered my life, it had to make an appearance in-action! I love the contrast it has against the black top and I think it's very summery and adds a pop of colour.

To go with the bag, I went for two bracelets; one is a loom bracelet and the other is just a pretty, bright pink bracelet from a market in Spain.

I also feel that the loom bracelet ties in with these cute little pumps from Peacocks that are really comfy and handy for summer because of the little holes in them for your feet to breathe a bit more.

The sun started to get in my eyes so I grabbed my blue shades that were part of my previous look with the shorts. I've used these again because they are my go-to sunglasses this spring.

I think this is a sweet yet chilled out look for summer and just show how versatile these shorts are in comparison to my last look of 'smart-casual'. I hope you enjoyed this post and enjoy your Easter and/or holidays!

Who doesn't love a bit of Vintage?

So, I ask you the question - who doesn't love a bit of vintage? Whether it's 1920's jewelry, 1940's skirts or even 1990's grunge, I'm certain all of us have a love for something nostalgic. If you've been reading this blog since I started, you may have guessed that I'm somewhat of a 'girly-girl', I love my skirts and Chelsea Boots as well as tons of lace! But a family member recently came across an old pair of her Guess, high-waisted, turn up shorts from California in the 90's - I was ecstatic.

I've always loved shorts but never ventured into even vintage-looking shorts so to own a vintage pair I felt excited to try out something new this Spring (hopefully) and Summer. As I've been thinking about these shorts since I received them, I've been wondering what outfits and styles I could incorporate them into. There's a lot of ways to say the least and so instead of sharing them all in one painfully long blog post, I thought I'd split them up and every few weeks I'd write about a new style over this season - we'll call it 'Guess what style?' (Apologies for that poor pun).

First, smart casual. Sometimes I don't even know what this means. A pencil skirt with a hoodie? Black trousers and a sloppy t-shirt? Or a full on lounge-around-suit with a briefcase in one hand and a black takeaway coffee in the other? Thing is, it's what YOU make of it. With these shorts, I'd say this look is slightly more on the casual side so something ideal to wear on a day out shopping.

The collared white shirt and the cute yet sophisticated ballet pumps make this look more smart and chic.

The light blue sunglasses gives the look a more chilled vibe and the rustic-styled pendant adds a little something to the completed look and keeps it casual as it dangles above the stomach so quite low down, toning the sophistication of the shirt down.

That is the end of part one of the 'lookbook', I hope you enjoy and if you have any tips on styling vintage items, say so in the comments!

Pip pip cheerio!
