I remember having my hair scraped back into a bun, putting my pale pink tights on and slipping into my jet black leotard like it was yesterday. The immaculate appearance of a ballerina still amazes me and I wish I could still be tying my ballet shoes on right now.
Dance has always been a passion of mine, whether I've been practicing it or just watching it (Dance Moms being one of my little pleasures of life). There's something so incredible about how a story can be told through movement and ballet is the most beautiful way of that.
Not only is it relevant in my life, but dance has made its way into the fashion world, with tutu style couture skirts being made and even at NYFW last week we saw modern dance as a way of modelling on the runway at Opening Ceremony. With this in mind I thought I'd bring ballet and fashion, my two passions together into an outfit to show you.
This classic LBD is absolutely beautiful and has amazing texture. It's definitely a dress for life as the fabric is thick and heavy so is such good quality for only £22.99! The caged style of the shoes replicate the ribbons on ballet shoes and compliments the glimmer of the necklace perfectly. I feel this look is so elegant and chic and a more mature version of the little ballerina I was.
