Rusty Mustard

Rusty mustard? I actually hate both mustard and, like most people, rust. However in this colour combination, it hits both trend targets of the most popular colours of the season - rusted orange and mustard yellow.

First the funnel neck, I've always been opposed to this neckline as it has often been uncomfortable. However this one from Topshop has a thinner, softer and more light-weight fabric and so it slips on easily, and the ribbed effect ensures there's no sheerness to negatively highlight anything here.

To make the shape of the outfit more flattering, I added a Topshop rust, A-Line, 60's inspired silhouette skirt. This accentuates the waist line, and also gives more shape in the hip area to give an hourglass figure. The button detailing on this is really cute and adds to the 60's/70's fun vibe.

Accessories: for a more clean cut finish I popped a collarless, straight, black coat on top (New Look). However if you're looking to make the outfit fresher and more smart casual I added this cool khaki bomber jacket (Boohoo), introducing another colour from the AW15 palette. This contrasts with the clean lines of the rest of the outfit as it has an unstructured casualness to it.

The shoes are a chunky pair of black boots from Primark (£15) however due to the price, the faux leather has scuffed at the front already. And the sunglasses are my old pair from Urban Outfitters (similar HERE) paired with the rings that came in a pack from Topshop in the sale which add a slightly edgier tone to the outfit, but still keeping it current.
